The Gabe Mervine Quartet

Sunday, July 31, 2016 :: 3:00-6:00pm

gabe At a time in music where history and originality never seem to go hand in hand, Gabriel Mervine takes steps every time he picks up his trumpet to bring these two closer together. Gabriel has deeply rooted himself in the traditions of Jazz and Classical music while at the same time contributing to the modern music scene.

Having already gained significant recognition in the music community – performing with Natalie Cole, Christian McBride, Terence Blanchard, Russell Malone, Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley, John McNeil,  Roberta Gambarini, Houston Person and others, Gabe has now set out to make a name for himself as a solo artist.

Our next Blind Tiger event celebrates the 2016 release of his debut recording as a leader, “People” on Denver’s Synergy Music label. Selected as KUVO’s February “CD of the Month”, the music is fresh and exciting, highlighting the considerable skills and modern attitude of this fine up-and-coming trumpet phenom.

In keeping with the Blind Tiger tradition of presenting jazz in unique and unexpected locations, the event will take place on the patio of the historic Capitol Hill Mansion in the heart of downtown Denver and as always will include a gourmet supper paired with libations.  Gabe will be accompanied by a rhythm section comprised of three young talents that recently joined him in residency at Nocturne where they formed a strong musical bond: Daniel Hogans on drums, Patrick McDevitt on bass, and Stephen Thurston on piano.

Seating is very limited for this intimate jazz soiree, so don’t wait to save your spot!
